Not only am I learning from the day-to-day with my own team, I get to connect with people across locations and across every part of Ogilvy's business to learn more and more each day. The support I have from my peers, managers, and others at Ogilvy has been amazing.
What kinds of projects have you worked on thus far?
Competitive audits analyzing the norms and existing landscape, scoping areas of potential opportunities and disruption, and scouting the emergence of social media as a disruptor/supplement to existing marketing and brand plans. I've also engaged in macro and micro trend research to create decks that serve as creative inspiration and thought starters. Also, I've spent a lot of time diving into the plethora of tools at Ogilvy to add further nuance and depth into whichever projects I'm working on to provide the most complete and accurate picture.
What are you involved with outside of work?
When the weather permits, I take long walk around my neighborhood and others in Chicago, taking note of restaurants and stores I should revisit, and just enjoy the city's architecture and green/'blue'-spaces. When I'm indoors, I like catching up on the latest anime/manga releases, League matches, FPS games, and any other new hobbies that I stumble across (currently getting familiar with the headphones/hifi audio and mechanical keyboard spaces!). Also, doing groceries and taking some time to cook and bake has been immensely therapeutic!
Where do you draw inspiration from?
The people around me! When I'm not driven by a sprint-like hunger to learn the nuances of a new tool or learn more about a new area, I find that listening to the stories and seeing the work of those around me is motivating. I can't help but get excited to continue to grow and work when those around me are creating amazing things and putting in the work for their own goals.
